About the Owner

John Perry

I started being a fly fishing guide in Montana in the early 80’s when I was a forestry student at the University of Montana.  After several summers of  guiding I knew this is what I was born for.  Over the years I learned as much as I could about fishing and entomology and my business gradually grew.  In the early 90’s I started gathering a very talented group of young guides who continue to work with me to this day.

Years ago, I purchased the Clark Fork River Lodge, with the intent of making it a retreat for everyone.  It also turned out to be a great lodge and location for my guiding business.

And now, there are many great memories with the hundreds of clients who have rented the lodge, from memorable fishing groups to reunions to couples who need a break.

I honestly believe we have the most dedicated and knowledgeable family of outfitters and guides in Montana and we offer a unique, Montana experience!
